What we check for you

Genuine versus compatible

Genuine Cisco modules are covered by warranty and support, and are recognised by the switch without warnings. Third-party modules may work but can trigger unsupported-transceiver alerts. We advise by platform.

Fibre type and distance

Know your fibre grade (OM3, OM4 or OS2) and the real cable length. We match the module reach to the installed fibre, not just the datasheet.

Platform compatibility

Not every module is supported on every switch. We check your exact switch and software version against the compatibility list before quoting.

Connectors and spares

Check LC or MPO connectors and patch cords before ordering. We include matching patch cords and a small spare pool if you want them.

Frequently asked questions

Will third-party SFPs work in Cisco Catalyst switches?

Often they physically fit, but some platforms flag unsupported transceivers and Cisco support may ask you to replace them. For production networks we recommend genuine modules, and we can advise by platform.

How do I choose between SR, LR and ER modules?

Match the module to the fibre and the distance: SR for short multimode runs, LR for single-mode up to about 10 km, and ER or ZR for longer links. Tell us the fibre type and length and we will pick the correct module.

Do you supply direct-attach and active optical cables?

Yes. Direct-attach and active optical cables are available for short links; share the lengths and port types you need.

Can you quote SFP modules in bulk?

Yes. We quote bulk quantities with a committed delivery schedule.
